Personal experience - Greenhouse 4: Director of the project "Tales of The Defeated"

Yael Reuveni Greenhouse 4th round participant, Director of the project "Tales of The Defeated", Israel.

I participated in Greenhouse from August till December 2009. In these six months, with the support of my tutor, Nenad Puhovski and the Greenhouse team the concept of my film "Tales of the defeated" changed very much. I think that first of all I needed to understand how little I knew about my own story, which I thought I had complete grasp of. This wasn't always easy and pleasant, but Greenhouse is also a place that allows you to get confused and lost in a safe environment, which is, in my opinion necessary for a deep creative process.
One of the most unique points in Greenhouse is the meeting with the other filmmakers. It was a relief that we could all meet as professionals, people with unique stories and a passion to tell them and still - not ignoring the complicated local politics.
I am very thankful for these six months and really hope to keep the dialog with the tutors and with the other participants going after the last seminar.
